d e t a i l s : Absolutely breathtaking Edwardian ivory silk wedding dress. This consists of a bodice, a underskirt and an overskirt. The bodice has a high neckline, white floral lacework over the chest and neck, pleated shoulders, 3/4 length sleeves with matching lace cuff and the best swinging fringe/tassels with little pearls and puffed silk balls. Overskirt matches the bodice fabric (crepe) and has tiny vertical pleats down the front and sides, a ruffle along the bottom and more little fringe details. Slight train in the back. The underskirt is a silk charmeuse and has several layers of ruffles along the bottom with a matching train in the back. The mannequin I used was a bit too large in the waist to accurately line up the skirts. The underskirt is a bit shorter than the overskirt in the front, but you could definitely creatively tack up the overskirt if you want it to show. It's gorgeous so I think I would! This would be a dream wedding dress of course.

c o n d i t i o n : This is in remarkable condition! This was professionally cleaned. There are a few very small flaws - 1 small hole in the outer skirt which wouldn't be noticeable when worn over the underskirt, a small hole near the waistband and a patch on the underskirt (also not noticeable. Really, it's unbelievable that it's in this excellent condition for being over 120 years old. Of course, it's wearable - but with care - as it is very old and all silk. The silk has no issues (no dry rot) but of course this type of silk is naturally delicate.

s i z i n g : fits like a modern XXS, but please use measurements.
m e a s u r e m e n t s (inches) :
length: bodice: 18/17 (from shoulder to bottom hem front/back - pigeon breasted) underskirt: 36/42 (from waist to bottom hem front/back) overskirt: 38/41 (from waist to bottom hem front/back)
waist: bodice: 24 underskirt: 23 overskirt: 23.75 - I have the overskirt moved over to the outer hook and eye which makes it another .75", but if you hook it on the inner hook, it's also 23" - a skilled tailor could probably take a small amount of silk from the bottom hem to make this slightly bigger (or another similar fabric). You could always wear a belt with the dress, too. My tailor has added gussets to skirts for customers which can increase the waist size quite a bit with the right matching fabric.
bust: 34
hips: open

NEED TO KNOW:
✦ MOST sales are considered final. Returns can be reviewed on a case-by-case basis if there is a significant error in the listing. Time is spent to give accurate measurements on each item, so I unfortunately can not offer returns for items that do not fit. TERRASITA also can not accept returns on undergarments, bathing-suits, or items from the 1920's or earlier due to their fragile nature. Additional absolutely no returns or exchanges on Layaway items.
✦ Vintage clothing is pre-worn and pre-loved and as a result some pieces may show signs of wear or use. I carefully inspect each item and disclose any signs of wear in our detailed descriptions.
✦ If you have any questions about fit, color, or need any additional photos, please don't hesitate to ask questions before you decide to purchase. I want you to be happy with your item!
✦ SIZING - Vintage clothing sizing does not reflect modern standards. When determining size, make sure you account for enough room to move comfortably. Additionally, vintage clothing is more fragile and should be worn with this in mind. Occasionally there are seam allowances or darts that can be removed, as well as tailors that can alter a vintage item to fit your particular shape.
When determining size I recommend measuring the following:
HIPS: measure around the fullest part of your hips.
BUST: measure over the fullest part of your bust while wearing a bra.
WAIST: measure around the smallest point of your natural waistline.
SHOULDER TO WAIST: measure from the very top of your shoulder - where the seam would lie, down the front, over the bust, to your waistline.
LENGTH: measure from the top of your shoulder, down the front, and to the point where the hem would be. Inseam measurements for pants would be measured from the inside of the leg at the very top of the groin, down to the hem.
✦ SHOE SIZING - I tale actual measurements inside the shoe from toe to heel, as well as width measurements inside the shoe as accurately as possible.
