f a b r i c : ivory silk charmeuse (medium weight) with metallic gold thread embroidery, tiny faux pearls, heavier weight gold metal sequins, beading and prong set rhinestones - NOTE: the most accurate color is the photos of the full gown - it's truly a glowing ivory. The closeups were taken with an iphone and the color is slightly off.

d e t a i l s : A highly collectible 1950s ivory silk party dress by Italian fashion designer Maria Antonelli. Her pieces are super rare and incredibly hard to find! This piece in particular is a real stunner! Made with glowing ivory silk charmeuse and hand beaded and embroidered with golden metallic thread, sequins, pearls and rhinestones in patterns of leaves and flowers that cover the bodice and bottom of the skirt with vertical lines that connect the two. The dress itself is sleeveless with boning in the bodice to create a corseted tight fitting top, nipped in waist and full skirt with box style pleating. Dress is fully lined. The details of the embroidery are exquisite and intricate and shimmer in the light. It really looks made for a princess! This is the perfect collector's item to add to your rare collection, or would be an important museum acquisition.

c o n d i t i o n : Overall I would rate this as vintage good minus - the silk fabric is strong without any holes or weakness. There are scattered pin dots marks and small spots (see all photos please). There is some sequin/beading loss mainly from the side of the dress under the arm. Most of the beading is secure. (I included the beading that has fallen off) There is some discoloration in the inside bust area, but isn't visible when worn. This could be worn with care and I think the small areas of spots/concern would be near undetectable in low lighting situations. That said, it would need to be worn carefully and with some possible repairs to the beading to make it more secure around a few areas of the upper bustline. That said, this is an exceptional, rare piece and is priced accordingly!
