VINTAGE ADJUSTABLE HOOP SKIRT
e r a : 1940s/50s
f a b r i c : fabric and plastic
c o l o r : peach and beige lace
f a s t e n e r s : adjustable snap closures at the waist
d e s i g n e r : Originally invented by southern belle Mary Clayton, Belle o' the Ball - Clayton Mfg. Co. Atlanta
d e t a i l s : A fabulous piece of history! This particular version - with the opaque plastic parts - was one of the earliest and is now one of the rarest. Most of them found today have the clear plastic. This hoop was designed with cotton webbing straps to lengthen or shorten the hoop into a variety of styles - to create a bustle, or even panniers. The maximum circumference at the very bottom is 90" and the whole thing collapses down to fit into a 8" carrying case! The center of the case has a little compartment to hold other necessities. Currently it has a few extra fabric strips with snaps. This is super fun and would be great to play with different styles or used as a display piece in a shopping window!

NEED TO KNOW:
✦ MOST sales are considered final. Returns can be reviewed on a case-by-case basis if there is a significant error in the listing. Time is spent to give accurate measurements on each item, so I unfortunately can not offer returns for items that do not fit. TERRASITA also can not accept returns on undergarments, bathing-suits, or items from the 1920's or earlier due to their fragile nature. Additional absolutely no returns or exchanges on Layaway items.
✦ Vintage clothing is pre-worn and pre-loved and as a result some pieces may show signs of wear or use. I carefully inspect each item and disclose any signs of wear in our detailed descriptions.
✦ If you have any questions about fit, color, or need any additional photos, please don't hesitate to ask questions before you decide to purchase. I want you to be happy with your item!
✦ SIZING - Vintage clothing sizing does not reflect modern standards. When determining size, make sure you account for enough room to move comfortably. Additionally, vintage clothing is more fragile and should be worn with this in mind. Occasionally there are seam allowances or darts that can be removed, as well as tailors that can alter a vintage item to fit your particular shape.
When determining size I recommend measuring the following:
HIPS: measure around the fullest part of your hips.
BUST: measure over the fullest part of your bust while wearing a bra.
WAIST: measure around the smallest point of your natural waistline.
SHOULDER TO WAIST: measure from the very top of your shoulder - where the seam would lie, down the front, over the bust, to your waistline.
LENGTH: measure from the top of your shoulder, down the front, and to the point where the hem would be. Inseam measurements for pants would be measured from the inside of the leg at the very top of the groin, down to the hem.
✦ SHOE SIZING - I tale actual measurements inside the shoe from toe to heel, as well as width measurements inside the shoe as accurately as possible.
