VINTAGE WEDDING DRESS
e r a : 1930s
f a b r i c : liquid satin
c o l o r : pale ivory
f a s t e n e r s : button closures at lower back
d e s i g n e r : unknown
d e t a i l s : These lingerie style wedding dresses from the 1930s are my favorite and fairly difficult to find now! So entirely sexy but classic and beautiful too. This one has a v neckline with ruching/pleating details along a wide band going down the torso. V style double straps over the shoulders that wrap around the neck like a halter and the other two attaching to the back of the dress at the waist so the entire back open. Cinched waistline with matching belt, back button closures up the lower back and bias cut long maxi skirt. This dress originally was worn with a sheer chiffon over-dress that is also stunning! Unfortunately the fabric on this piece didn't hold up and it's not wearable. However, I am including it with the dress in case you want to have it re-made and use it as a pattern. The silk band at the bottom is still in good shape and could be re-used. I will also include the original buttons from this piece. Even the top half would look great re-made! The dress itself is perfect without it too!
c o n d i t i o n : The satin dress is in excellent condition - there are a few marks on the inside of the dress but they aren't visible on the outside. The outer dress is in poor condition and not wearable. The price is based on the satin dress only.
s i z i n g : fits like a modern XS
m e a s u r e m e n t s (inches) :
length: 56/58 (from shoulder to bottom hem - front/back)
waist: 26 - the belt seems a tad tighter than the dress - you would just need to make a small hole in it to fit your waist size
hips: open bias cut
Thanks for looking!
NEED TO KNOW:
✦ MOST sales are considered final. Returns can be reviewed on a case-by-case basis if there is a significant error in the listing. Time is spent to give accurate measurements on each item, so I unfortunately can not offer returns for items that do not fit. TERRASITA also can not accept returns on undergarments, bathing-suits, or items from the 1920's or earlier due to their fragile nature. Additionally, absolutely no returns or exchanges on Layaway items or wedding items.
✦ Vintage clothing is pre-worn and pre-loved and as a result some pieces may show signs of wear or use. I carefully inspect each item and disclose any signs of wear in our detailed descriptions.
✦ If you have any questions about fit, color, or need any additional photos, please don't hesitate to ask questions before you decide to purchase. I want you to be happy with your item!
✦ SIZING - Vintage clothing sizing does not reflect modern standards. When determining size, make sure you account for enough room to move comfortably. Additionally, vintage clothing is more fragile and should be worn with this in mind. Occasionally there are seam allowances or darts that can be removed, as well as tailors that can alter a vintage item to fit your particular shape.
When determining size I recommend measuring the following:
HIPS: measure around the fullest part of your hips.
BUST: measure over the fullest part of your bust while wearing a bra.
WAIST: measure around the smallest point of your natural waistline.
SHOULDER TO WAIST: measure from the very top of your shoulder - where the seam would lie, down the front, over the bust, to your waistline.
LENGTH: measure from the top of your shoulder, down the front, and to the point where the hem would be. Inseam measurements for pants would be measured from the inside of the leg at the very top of the groin, down to the hem.
✦ SHOE SIZING - I tale actual measurements inside the shoe from toe to heel, as well as width measurements inside the shoe as accurately as possible.
